The Good: Fast payouts, good customer service; -107 juice on football
The Bad: No live betting, website looks good, but fairly plain
The Verdict: BetIslands gets straight to business and they do a good job of it. As the saying goes: it’s better to do a great job of a few things than a half-assed job of too many things. BetIslands offers good lines, fast payouts and nice deposit bonuses, and that’s enough to keep a lot of people – including us – happy.
About BetIslands Sportsbook
BetIslands is currently offline and can't be recommended. In the early spring of 2013, they closed their doors and took players funds along with it. There were some slight warning signs as the payouts were slow to be processed before they closed up shop but for the most part, this closure was a surprise. Read below to see our previous review of the book from early 2012.
How To Contact BetIslands
What’s Their Reputation?
BetIslands is one of the new kids on the block but they’ve made a rapid ascent up the ranks. It really goes to show you how quickly a sportsbook can grow if they provide good customer service, fast payouts and first-rate bonuses.
In a market that really lacks enough sportsbooks catering to Americans, BetIslands has done a great job of providing a good product to stand out in a small crowd.
Who Bets At BetIslands?
BetIslands has a mix of sharps and casual bettors, as they really do have good offerings for both.
The casual players will enjoy their elaborate bonus structure whereas the sharps are more likely to appreciate some of the other goodies such as low juice (-107) on football as well as the free half-point.
They also offer good-sized limits, which is also something that caters to the pros. While they do start the accounts off at $1,000 by default, the more you bet the more you are likely to get it increased. It’s basically the opposite of how some other sportsbooks do it, which is tell you there’s a big limit and then start lowering it when you start winning.
How Is Their Customer Service?
As mentioned above, one of the reasons why BetIslands has quickly moved up the power rankings is their customer service. In the sportsbook industry nowadays, a lot of players are like the “damaged goods” type of girlfriends. They’ve been burned badly by an ex and are simply looking for a nice guy.
That’s what BetIslands provides: good customer service, courteous operators and same-day payouts.
What else do you really need out of the customer service department?
BetIslands has had few to no complaints so far and any that they’ve had, they’ve dealt with swiftly and internally. There are some veteran books like WSEX (WSEX review) that could really learn from that.
How Easy Is It To Place A Bet On Their Website?
BetIslands has a very familiar betting engine is typically being phased out of the new sportsbooks, but it’s a system that’s tried, tested and true: the check boxes.
When you first login, you’ll be presented with all of the sports in the center of the screen and you simply check off which lines you’re looking to see. Once you continue, the lines will refresh in the center of the screen and you can further narrow down your selection. After that, you enter the amounts and confirm.
If you’re looking for exotic bets, they are all neatly organized above the sports categories, so it’s easy to find your teasers, parlays and if bets whenever you need them.

Reviewing The Rest Of The BetIslands Website
BetIslands is strictly business when it comes to their website. They do have a bit of a news section where they feed in the Sports Network feed of previews, injuries and various other generic stuff you can find at any major sports site, but aside from that little section, BetIslands makes it fairly clear that you’re there to bet.
Some people might complain but it’s not really a bad thing. If you’re looking to lay down some action, there’s no gimmicks or promotions being thrown in your face. You can quickly login, bet your bets, and move on with your life.
However, they have spent the time to create a mobile betting website for their clients, which is a nice feature if you have a smartphone.
BetIslands doesn’t have the variety of some of the U.K. books, but in reality, most North American bettors won’t require skiing and snooker lines. If you do, you may want to call Gamblers Anonymous or send us some good picks.
What they do have is good coverage of the major North American sports along with soccer, tennis and MMA. They also have a decent-sized section with sports-related props and futures.
Regrettably, live betting is not part of their repertoire quite yet, although management has noted the requests for it and is working on implementing it.

What Type Of VIP Program/Loyalty Program Is Offered?
What Type Of Bonus & Rebate Program Is Offered?
BetIslands has a slew of bonuses that really rival some of the best in the business.
For a simple deposit, they’ll give you a 100% free play up to $500, which comes with a rollover between 10-12 times.
But you can also opt for a slew of other bonuses, such as the 10% cash and 15% free play bonus, which comes with a more reasonable five-time rollover. There are also options where you can receive a 20%, 35% and 50% bonus.
They also have a football rebate program, which means that if you maintain an active account for four months during football season, they’ll give you 10% back on your losses.
Many of their promotions also include a free half-point on all NCAA football and NFL lines, or -107 juice on those same sports, so really do get quite a few options at BetIslands.
