THE GOODPremier brand since 1934; publicly traded company, so security and trust are nothing you’ll ever worry about; endless variety of bets (and betting); fantastic customer service
THE BADNo low juice, deposit bonuses unclear, our users had a hard time finding call-in numbers and live-chat; contacting the sportsbook was not a pleasant process; website appearance a bit cluttered
It’s hard to knock this shop whatsoever as they are truly one of the best. Low juice would be the cherry on top and more obvious ways to connect with them, but even without that, they have an excellent website, good service and slew of betting options – including a good live betting product – to keep even the biggest A.D.D. gamblers satisfied.
About Will Hill Sportsbook
William Hill is among the premier shops on the internet and there are many reasons for it. They’ve got good live betting, one of the biggest variety of betting on the internet, a smooth website and maybe most importantly of all, a chaste record of trust and security. Unfortunately the Americans can’t partake, but everyone else would be well served to open an account at Will Hill either to use as your primary or add to your arsenal of shops.

What’s Their Reputation?
William Hill has one of the best reputations in the business.
They started off as a basic bookie, and with the addition of both the online website as well as plenty of real shops where you can (in the U.K.), along with the fact that their company is traded publicly on the London Stock Exchange, they have a rock solid reputation.
The fact that it’s a public company is as good of a seal of approval as you can get. They have a good, clean history and they’ve done it properly from pretty much the start.
Who Bets At Will Hill?
William Hill takes all kinds of business but it is definitely more for the recreational player than the pro.
It’s not that they don’t have things that will appeal to the sharps, it’s just that more of their offerings appeal to bettors looking for a good time.
With a plush website that includes written content, radio and podcasts, as well ample live betting and products that delve into casino and skill games, those are all things that appeal to the casual bettor more so than the professional who’s looking for an edge.
There aren’t many edges to be had here but you’ll definitely find a good experience.
How Is Their Customer Service?
William Hill has excellent customer service as they are a publicly traded company. They have to respect and respond to the shareholders, which means there will never be any funny business that you might get with an offshore brand that can just get up and walk away.
Will Hill has shops – over 2300 physical location – where they take bets in the U.K. as that’s how the company originally came to fruition. As far as online goes, there’s hardly ever a customer complaint in any realm, but we would be remiss if we didn’t mention that the sportsbook phone number and live chat was painfully hard to find – in Lehman’s terms, it’s not as blatantly obvious as it is with most sportsbooks. It behooves us to understand why such a key number is so overlooked considering there is so much overall awareness for everything else on the site. ‘Nigel’ from their live chat support team told us the following when we asked where to find the contact number for the sportsbook:
Nigel: “You can click the terms and condition link located below the site. Another page window will appear. Then type the the word contact in the keyword box. Click the link "How to contact William Hill".”
Really? Do I also need to push up, up, down, down, left, right, left, right ‘b’, ‘a’, ‘start’ before you can reveal the phone number?
In short, it means they don’t want you contacting them and we don’t like that.
Not a big deal – especially for a book with such a great track record as this – but it’s worth noting.
How Easy Is It To Place A Bet On Their Website?
Betting at William Hill is a point-and-click process, but it’s worth noting that things at this book are styled a tad differently than traditional players might be used to.
For starters, the website is far more dressed up. Clicking on the ‘baseball’ or ‘football’ section can eventually get you to just the barebones list of lines, but before you get there you’ll likely see a mini preview screen with one or two games highlighted with images.
This is fairly consistent across the board and it gives the site – from the logged-in state – a more ESPN-like feel to it when you’re perusing the lines than a sportsbook feel.
Eventually, you’ll find what you’re looking for – and rather easily – but this is one example of where the sharps and the casual bettors will separate: sharps just want to get to business and will want as few clicks as possible whereas the casual bettors won’t mind taking time to smell the roses and enjoy the extra work put in.
Truth be told, we appreciated the prettied up state as speed won’t be an issue once you’re familiar with where to go. Whereas using a sportsbook that never changes their images and never changes their presentation gets drab very quickly.
The other stylish change at William Hill sportsbook is that the categories for all of the lines are at the top of the page. The majority of sportsbooks keep this on the left-hand side, so this is a noticeable difference. To be honest, after a couple of weeks of using it, we still couldn’t say which way is better or worse – both styles worked fine for us.
Beyond that, all you do is find your line, click away and it adds it to your ticket right then and there – no need to take you to another page – and you can confirm the amount and bet right away.

Reviewing The Rest Of The William Hill Website
The rest of the William Hill website definitely gets full marks. In the past, we’ve raved about websites like BetOnline, who a consistent flow of content, or sites like Bet365, that offer live streaming of sporting events, but William Hill truly bests them all.
Not only does it have a quality live betting product, live streaming just like Bet365 and a good flow of content like BetOnline, they also have daily betting podcasts running the gamut from horse racing to soccer, golf and even reality TV. Unfortunately, there is virtually no coverage on North American sports, which was a disappointment.
As mentioned, they have live streaming of sporting events although again, the focus is European, and they also have live radio broadcasts. There are videos, TV specials, and plenty of multimedia overall.
Their mobile website also deserves high marks as it’s a pleasure to use. If you surf to it on your iPhone, you’ll notice big, wide buttons for you to touch. That’s quite the contrast to regular sites that force you to zoom in and click regular links with your index finger on a small screen.
Usually their mobile betting is a breeze and we can only hope that the rest of the sportsbooks on the net that aren’t up to speed follow their blueprint.
The betting variety at William Hill is honestly jaw-dropping.
If you’re coming from an old school bookie, where you meet the guy on every other Tuesday behind a gas station to exchange funds, or you come from a training wheels sportsbook that basically takes bets on the major North American sports and nothing else, you might be overwhelmed.
Even after playing at 5Dimes or Bet365 you’ll be impressed.
We mostly focus on the sports realm here but Will Hill has a lot more than just that. They’ve sports, casino, poker, games, Vegas games, a live casino, skill games, bingo, virtual games and a new brand of day trading (financials). It’s like being a cavity-less kid in a candy store.
They are really on the ball with North American sports, offering a wealth of daily lines, props and futures, and if they do a good job of that, you know they’ve got the European games covered.
There’s really quite a bit here.
NFL Games: $100,000

NHL Games: $100,000
MLB Games: $100,000
*Note: their trading team can change the limits on the side plays for these sports but if it is not listed, we were told that the maximum winning per bet for these four major sports is $100,000
